Gas in oil, cleaned carb, what about oil?

I went to cut my grass a couple weeks ago, and it would run and stall, with white smoke billowing out. I found it was trash in the carb...I just took apart the carb yesterday, and cleaned it thoroughly, and put new oil in the mower. Is there a chance there could still be a trace of gas in the oil? Is changing it once enough, or should I run it a few minutes, and change it again, to make sure it's all oil now?

I usually drain, put in fresh oil, run, drain. repeat. twice. (filter as well)
keep a close check on the oil level, its not uncommon for the float or needle to fail and stop metering gas flow into the carb... if it does it again purchase a carb rebuild kit or if you want to roll the dice on it, an amazon or ebay carb,

Dump the oil, oil is cheap. Not talking about a Ford Super Duty diesel at 20 plus quarts here.
