I have a problem with my 60 inch Eagle HP. It is almost impossible to keep it straight when I am going down hill and slowing down to make a turn or going very slow down hill. The chopper is "lurching, jumping" and very hard to control. My dealer says that is the way it is and it can not be corrected. Has anyone had this experience?

By and large the dealer is right
ZTR's are very unstable on slopes
Just check the belt tensioner is properly lubricated and swings free plus the belt is in good condition is about all you can do

When you get 1,500lbs on slick or wet grass things happen.

Another reason why safety switches are important on these machines.

The Eagle HP is a really good mower well built and tough. The biggest draw back I have with it is the controls are too touchy.
