Dead Poulan

I have a Poulan Pro 500 EX 19.5 hp 46" cut mower. While mowing, it backfired, then quit. Now it won't crank. I suspect a safety switch problem, anyone have any helpful hints?

theres alot of possibilities.....i would find the carb bowl and hold on to it while you or someone else turns the ignition on and off......you should feel a thump when the main jet solenoid activates...lets start there and get back to us :smile:
