I ordered this Reverse Flow Housing #919-04163 ($110.60) and #723-3071 Hydraulic filter last fall and now installing it on my 2006 #6284 Compact tractor. It won't screw on the transmission boss far enough to seal the tiny '0-ring. Here is a photo of the filter boss on the transmission. The flange right behind the threaded nipple is not far enough for the reverse flow housing threads to screw on to seal the adapter. I removed that nipple flange and I don't see anyway there is a solution. The Cub Cadet Parts dept. sent a nipple with the order, but, I don't see that it is a replacement for the one on the tractor. I'm thinking this reverse flow housing is one that Cub Cadet had and it was a flaw in it that as this is the only one that was available in he whole world. So, I'm out of luck to find another one.

After some checking and asking many questions why the CC-566 Reverse Flow Adapter and the #723-3071 Hydraulic filter won't mate up. I find the 723-3071 has the correct threads that screw into the male side of the Adapter, but, the metal plate with the female threads sets farther out and there won't allow the "filter gasket" to made contact with the adapter.
When I bought the #6284 it had a Hastings HF731 filter on it. I didn't discard this used filter at the time I changed the hydraulic fluid. So, yesterday I decided to see why one filter...new 723-3071 wouldn't work, and the old Hasting HF731 would. I find the metal plate with the 1" dia. threads on the Hasting filter sets back some 1/2"allowing the filter to screw fully to the adapter. So, I just ordered a new Hastings HF731 for $19.56 and free shipping from Amazon. When I get the new filter I will "again" drain the hydraulic fluid and install the CC-566 reverse flow adapter and Hastings HF731 filter.

When Cub Cadet put out the Service Advisory bulletin back on April 11, 2007 they advised to use the CC 723-3071 filter. Someone didn't do their job on comparing filters.
