The plastic button broke now my mower will not start,
I jumped the starter solenoid and the engine cranks fine, so battery and starter are good

I’ll have to look this up, I think the cruise control mechanism on mine is purely mechanical, but yours might be electrical. Stay tuned.

Here we go. Your cruise control is the same as mine. It’s a mechanical system with rods that run down to the brake pedal arm, and I presume an electrical switch. Rather than try to wire around it, I’d just replace the plastic cruise control switch, it’s really inexpensive.
