Craftsman YT6 4000 Transmission/won't engage

Mower sat over the winter, disengaged, jacked up a bit on one side.
Started okay, but when tried to engage the tranny ..wouldn't ...tried moving it back and forth, tried purging first part disengaged, but couldn't do second part of purge...ie, moving it forward and backward 3 times because it wouldn't engage.

1. Ideas as to problem?

2. a repair manual for that mower?

Senior moment...problem solved
Simply that the axle key was out.

Glad to have another member of the “It’s hell to get old club”. Most of us have done it a few times and are still trying to loose our membership status. Probably won’t happen.
