Would like to replace the drive belt but I can't figure out how to get the blade mounting shaft off so I can take the large cover off so I can get to the belt and pulley? Any suggestions? Thank you

It you are not able to remove it by hand by pulling the blade adapter off then you need to use a puller.

Yup and some PB Blaster penetrating lube, propane torch, BFH and or maybe an air hammer. Spray it down every time you mow with PB. Keep spraying as long as you can get by without using the mower. Spray it down nightly. After several lube sessions, an air hammer will buzz it right off, maybe.

IF you get it off the crankshaft, apply anti-seize to it before reinstalling. Also put some on your blade mounting bolt.

I was able to get it off, thank you for your help. Now I need to find the speed control cable, I know Sears/Craftsman don't have it anymore, been searching the internet but can't find one
