Hi everyone. 1st post, so here we go:
Recently acquired a 2nd hand Craftsman LTX1000, 18hp Kohler engine, 42 inch cut. The fellow I bought it from said the battery may be going on it, which I was ready to replace.
Brought it home, started up fine. Almost mowed the entire lawn, at the very end, runs out of gas. No problem, I put some gas that I had ,try to start it, engine turns a few times then the battery dies.
Tried charging it a few times, was only able to get the engine to turn once or twice before it died again. Go to the hardware store, pick up a new battery, install it. Engine now turns and turns and turns, but still will not start. Bad gas maybe, so I drain the gas, pour some fresh gas in, still nothing, engine turns but wont start. Changed the spark plug and fuel filter, thinking for sure one of those will surely fix it. Still nothing, engine turns, but it will not start. Not sure what could be the issue, as I saw it running before I bought it, mowed my entire lawn with in with zero issues, however now it will not start.
Im sure I would of flooded the engine trying to start it so often, so I waited a day, then tried again, still no luck. I do notice that after the trying to start the engine, after a few turns there is some gas that spits out front, seems to be coming where the spark plug is. Is that normal?
Any suggestions on what else I could try?
Thanks in advanced!
