Hello..

Because I'm a craigslist fiend, I've managed to come into two older models of the craftsman push lawn vacuum.
247.770550 - newer. has a Briggs and Stratton engine.

247.77010 - older . Has a Tecumseh engine.

I originally had the older green one, and it leaks oil somewhere from the case. I've replaced the gaskets and seals, and still.. it leaks.

I came into the newer red one and was looking forward to using that as opposed to wiping up oil before, during, and after every use, but for whatever reason, the suction on this one is not good at all. I've adjusted the height, flipped the little switch on the front.. doesn't make any difference.

What I'm wondering is, can I swap the non leaking engine onto the chassis/deck of the older green unit?

My thinking is that the good engine married to the good physics of the older chassis would be a winner. The construction of everything (except the engines) on these units is quite similar, and I assume both made by MTD.

Thank you in advance for your advice!
