I have an older model craftsman riding mower. We have taken out the carb and cleaned it, everything is free and moving. We changed the spark plugs and solnoid. We have taken out the gas tank and cleaned it, gave it a new fuel filter and new gas line. It will start with starter fuild and will run if I keep using starting fuild. It will even run for a minute without me spraying the starter fuild but then quits. What else can I do to get it running?

Would you mind posting the model number info off of the engine itself. We don't know what you are looking at. could be from a briggs to a Maytag.

Sounds carb related. Try cleaning it again with a rebuild kit.

You mentioned you cleaned the tank,... Did you happen to replace the filter?

Pull the fuel line off the carb and see if fuel actually flows through the line?

I did give it a new fuel filter. I also pulled off the carb again and used a kit to clean/rebuild. This time when I took off the carb there was fuel in the float, first time I pulled it off there was no fuel, that's why I replaced the fuel filter but was still getting no fire out of it. Im going to put the carb back on today and hope it will start. Ill let you know if it does and if it doesn't ill be back here looking for more suggestions.
Thanks!

You need to replace the float, and also check and make sure that your engine oil is not full of gasoline.
