compression

My kawasaki twin has no compression on right cylinder but lots on left side could this be a valve issue

Could be, take the right valve cover off and turn the engine over by hand, while you look at the rockers, unless there is something visibly wrong!

Just did ( well the customer did ) a re-ring on a FS691
Customer has a bagger and the air filter was not properly sealed
The bores were polished glassy smooth.
One had no compression & the other was within spec at 75 psi .

Bent or broken pushrod on the dead cylinder, which happens when the valve guide moves and the rocker arm collides with it. Overheating is the result of airflow over the cooling fins being restricted by dirt, clippings, etc.
