The leaves are falling now so I took some time and put on the collection system of my machine.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so here are my modifications so the engine and I stay cleaner during leaf season.
I added a flap between the engine and bags. There is a pipe near the bottom to add weight to the tarp so it stays down. There is a small piece of duct taped to seal off a small section of framing that the flap doesn't cover.
I also added 2 pieces of that green pre-cleaner foam air cleaner to the outside of the air box.
The first year of collecting leaves the insides of the air box were filed with dirt. I was covered with dust also.
Last year it was much, much better. I didn't even have to replace my air filter (but I did because I had an extra one and I wanted to treat the machine).
So if anyone hates dust, this might be something to consider.
