Waste of time unless you have a coil with a remote timing controller .
They have 2 or 3 small wires connecting to the coil
If it has a single wire then the only test you need to do is plug cap to laminations for continuity.
Pull the single kill wire off & crank. it will spark = good or not spark = bad
