Briggs engine swap

Hi guys i have a briggs intek 724cc model 44n877 type 0003g1 code 170518yg that needs replaced and am looking for recommendations on what to replace it with. last time small engine warehouse cross referenced an engine for me and it was wrong. still looking to purchase from them tho since they arent far from me. i see a few engines with the 44n877 model but i do not know what alternator i need. also will i need to pull my engine and measure the shaft length and width? Thanks

Alternators all interchange so go for any one that has the standard PTO shaft & swap alternators if necessary.
AFAIK all 44 series have an oil filter and that would be the only real difference .
