I'm wondering...........
if can adapt one of these newer OHV push mower engine carburetors to one of the older style Quantum L head metal carbs........
so far the only problem i can see is the throttle/governor..... If i'm remembering right on the quantums the governor pulls back to increase throttle.. and on these new ones they push to the front..
because on the OHV's where the carb slides on, there is a plate that looks to be the perfect width to bolt up a quantum carb...
i may try this on mine this winter..... just wanted to ask the Brain Trust here for any blatant problems i'm not seeing?

A carb is a carb is a carb is a carb is a carb.
Helps to use one from the same capacity engine.
Putting a smaller one on tends to make the carb very sensitive so you get hysterisis happening whenever the governor adjusts the speed .
It also means the jets should be about right
Putting a bigger one on will make the engine sluggish in response to throttle changes .
After that is it just a matter of checking that the travel on the governor arm is sufficient to fully open the throttle butterfly .
