bolens 42'' riding mower

hey guys new here
i have 2 riding mowers 1 is a (bolens 42'' mower model# 13AN683G163) and the other is a {craftsman 42'' mower model #917.272350}
my question is will the bolens mower deck fit on the craftsman mower?
i was told by a friend that they are interchangeable but wanted other opinions
the reason i'm swapping decks is because the bolens mower motor isn't working and the mower is pretty much a parts mower IF they are interchangeable

no, bolens is mtd and craftsman is ayp brand.

for a bolens deck you can crossover to mtd, yardman, cub cadet, try built, but with that said, there are specific differences in the hanger brackets of all these brands on the different models they sell so certain years and models change bracket design

look for those brands and then you have to be sure the hanger brackets match. they are not subtle differences so it will be obvious if its the same or not

i would suggest you fix the craftsman by using your bolens for parts, for example if it needs an engine or tranny those are more likely to be the same

FYI - husqvarna, poulan, craftsman, ariens, are all parts interchangeable because they are all made by ayp
