Belt Issues

I purchased a new drive belt last season and the thing keeps slipping off while im mowing. Is there a way to tighten it?

Also, when I engage my mower it takes about 10 seconds for the blade to spin at maximum speed. Why is that?

It sounds like you did not get the proper sized belt. Did you get an OEM belt or an aftermarket belt? You cannot tighten the belt to make it work. It has to be the right sized belt and routed properly between the pulleys to work properly. It could possibly be slipping off it it is not routed between the belt guides properly.
