  • / Back wheels lockup when I let off the drive pedal to change direction – Hydrostatic Transmission
I have a Cub Cadet XT2 GX54 FAB D lawn tractor. When I left off the drive pedal to change directions, my back wheels will lock up like I have slammed on a parking brake. If I am backing up, I will often pop a wheelie due to how quickly it breaks. Going forward and letting off the drive pedal will cause my mower to slide on the terrain. I took my mower to a Cub Cadet authorized dealer (the same one who sold it to me) and was told me that's just what mowers with hydrostatic transmissions do. This is untrue. I've had this mower for about a year and a half (about 90 hours) and started having this trouble about six months ago. I will be taking it back for service after the last cut this fall/winter. Any ideas what it going on would be appreciated?
