Hey All,
Thanks for reading. I have a 2013 Troy Built Speed Pony with a 17.5 hp Model 31C707 3346 G6. I bend the aluminum intake pushrod every 2 weeks...possibly more than that.
I am planning on a rebuild of the engine this fall, possibly August, and can limp through until them changing them as needed.
Any insight into what is causing this to happen would be appreciated...and any suggestions on how to make them last longer until the rebuild would also be great.
The last one bent within 10 riding minutes from being checked and set at .006. I was mowing a hill, came off the seat enough to engage the dead man switch, and the engine backfired a bit and stalled. Turned the key and the engine would not turn over initially, but ultimately started, running rougher.
