Air filter oil bath issue?

I have an older AgriFab lawn vac with a B&S Intek 900 engine. Yesterday I got it running after cleaning the carb and replacing stale gas, and it started pumping an excessive amount of oil to the carb air filter housing. This oil is getting into the carb, and has turned my previously good running vac into a poor running, oversized mosquito fogger. I don't know how the oil bath system works, and am looking at tearing it down to see if I can find what's wrong. Anyone here ever run into this issue?

Most common cause of oil pumping into the air filter is the oil level is too high or has gas in the oil raising the level above normal..

If my memory is right the Intek 900 series did not use an oil bath filter. Please post all engine numbers, model, type and code, so we can see exactly which engine you have.
