Model 722DT6 ser 5818060 943 hours
3 cyl Kubota
Just got it running. New injectors; head ; fuel pump : fixed drive pump issue (replaced shaft and gear, new seal, filter, etc)

It is (was) a beast - motor runs great, pulls great, mows great for one day

New Issue just started - a little hard to start and when I engage the motor it stalls out. Like a huge load put on mower. Just chokes it right down

Troubleshooting. Bypassed seat safety switch. No effect.

Turned blades by hand. They spun freely. Motor sounded like it was missing although that is hard to tell on a diesel. So...loosened fuel line on first injector and motor died. Tightened it and loosenedsecond injector...no effect...so no fuel to second injector. Loosened third injector and motor died. So diagnosis is a bad fuel pump. Ordered new pump and gasket. $110. Fingers crossed.

It can get expensive to throw parts at a Kubota diesel. Do a search on here for another diesel Grasshopper that had similar problems and it turned out to be grass clippings in the fuel tank.

Did you get fuel out of the line to the 2nd injector when you loosened the fitting? If you got fuel, may be a bad injector. Could try swapping injectors to see if problem moves.
