Hi all,
I'm using 14g wire on a Momentary Push Button Switch. I've tested for continuity and it seems to be fine. Should I be using 16g wire or a better switch? I purchased what seems like a lower grade switch at NAPA. (https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NW_786139)
The engine slows down like it is running on one cylinder but doesn't shut down.

I'm pretty sure that switch isn't rated for the amount of volts running through a coil. Voltage is likely jumping the internals of the switch.

On a 27HP, shouldn't it be keyed on/off? I'm not even sure any type of rocker switch will work.

First 14 gauge wire is heavier than 16 gauge so it has lower resistance. All you attempting to ground the kill terminals.

If it is dropping to one cylinder then one of the diodes in the wiring harness is probably bad. Either that or the kill terminal on one of coils has failed.

Or if this a running problem and not a kill issue you might just be running one cylinder and when you load the engine down it bogs down due only running on one cylinder. V-twin can run quite well off load on one cylinder.
