I have a 25 Hp.Verticle B&S engine (model 445777-0168E Code 021125YC)I cannot get it to run on both cylinders, If I pull the plug wire from #1 cylinder it makes no difference, If I pull off #2 plug wire it dies. I have swapped plugs, swapped coils, still #1 is doing nothing. I have 150# compression in both cylinders and No intake leaks, I took carb apart everything seems to be clear and clean.any ideas?
Thanks

Is the spark plug in the dead cylinder wet with gas after it runs a little, or is it dry?

disconnect the kill wire at the ignition module on the cylinder that is not firing and see if it will fire then. If it does then you have a ground issue with the kill wire.

Uh..there never was a problem with the spark plugs fireing. I guess I should of made that a bit clearer. If you short the plug wire to ground number 1 cylinder makes no difference but if you short number 2 the engine dies. Both have Great spark

If number 1 cylinder don't have a spark shorting it out won't make a difference.
Pull the wire and hold it near the block and see if it has a spark.

yes. then I removed both plugs set em on the block connected the wires.spun the motor with starter.yep there both sparking.
then installed em,started it up dripped some gas into the #1 side of the carb and it ran like that cylinder was working.but only while I dripped gas into the intake of #1 cyl.
it has a 2 barrel carb.

Well, it seems if you've got consistent spark at both plugs, what you need to add to the mix is some fuel to #1. Maybe you've got some obstruction in the idle circuit in the carb, or maybe the whole thing is getting only enough fuel to run on one cylinder. Does this engine have a crankcase impulse style fuel pump on it? If so, make sure the hose is unobstructed and in good shape.
