I have 2017 John Deere z535m when engaging the blades, the pro kicks in but turns the blades very slow. Appears to be the pro clutch. The pulleys all turn freely. Only have 90 hrs on the machine.
the machine mowed fine for about 15 minutes then the blades slowed down.
Any diagnostic suggestions.
no help from the dealer

thx
Jeff

More questions than answers. You have a 4-5 year old unit. When was the last time the PTO belt was changed? Most times belt life is 3-4 years, less if they sit around from non use due to drying out. Have you checked all pulleys? When bearings heat up they will expand, causing pulleys to slow down. Is the belt tensioner arm free, keeping constant tension on the belt? Is the top and bottom of the deck clean? Debris will cause excessive heat contributing to bearing problems. Have you checked the spindle bearings? Remove the belt from the pulleys and hand spin the pulleys. They should spin easily and if you turn them slowly you should feel no tension or bearing side to side or up and down movement. Any one of these or a combination will create the problem you are describing.
