2016 Regent steering problem

I have a Regent tractor 2016 model 2691240-00 the steering wheel seems a little loose ? I replaced the tie rod and bolts bought a steering gear did not put it on because the one on there looks fine ? Any Ideas way my steering is sloppy ? Thanks , Mike
