Hello i recently purchased a 99 Murray select 30 cut. Model 283707. The previous owner had the deck on very low to the ground. Even when placed on the highest cut setting it is sitting just above 1 inch. I like to mow my lawn around 3.5 to 4 inches. How do I adjust the deck to set it up higher? Here are some pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

A couple of things to help you out. First, the model number you posted is an engine model number, not for your rider. If you look under the seat or on the back of the frame, you should find an ID tag with a a 5-9 digit model number. Second, if you look under the unit, back by the right wheel, you will find an L-shaped lift rod, which controls how high you can lift the deck.

Thank you. Unfortunately that is the only information that can be found on the mower. Fortunately I have found a parts diagram of the deck assembly as well. When I find the time I will try to raise the deck.
