My first Gold Series 10515 seems to be telling me it wants to retire. For the last 3 times I've used it, it refuses to run going downhill. I have to lift the front wheels to keep it from stalling. It also has reduced rpm on level ground. Starts like a champ though. No smoking, checked under the deck-no crud and no oil leaks. Any ideas?

Carburetor. Rebuild it and I think retirement will be postponed.

That's what I thought. Don't trust the shop that screwed up my 10518 carb rebuild. This something I can do myself?

A very easy job, just take your time, go slow.
Put some old carpet or rag under the mower before you start ( helps to catch bits that like to run away & hide )
When you work on the carb do it over the top of a large shallow dish for the same reason.

Last gas mix added a teaspoon or so of Marvel Mystery Oil and a teaspoon or so of Seafoam to my 32 to 1 synthetic non ethynol mix. Could this have caused this?

I doubt it.

But I'm of the opinion that if any of that stuff was necessary or even useful, manufacturers would eventually wise up and start recommending it.

Very good advice. I had to learn the hard way because some of them small parts just disappear.

Are the carb bolts tight?

Haven't we all.
An old housemate who is a cat fancier always feeds his cats by tossing tid bits from the bench to the floor.
This used to annoy me no end till I saw the logic.
Anything that went from the bench to the floor the cats pounced on.
They did the same in the garage so anything that went flying off the bench, the cats were on to in a flash.
Who said you can't train cats ?

When rebuilding the carb, pay close attention to the condition of the inlet needle valve's rubber tip. I have had two machines that run as you say and found the tips deteriorated. New inlet needle and seat solved my problem, each time.
