18hp B&S Turns over but not spark.

I was cutting the other day and got the mower stuck, Murray rider, and shut it off to push it out of the hole. When I went to start it up again, it turned over but wouldn't fire. Towed it back in, replaced the coil and spark plug, but it did the same thing. I had a problem with the coil before and this was how it acted. I'm now thinking bad ground somewhere, does anyone have any other ideas as to where to start checking? Thanks much for any replies!

Very first thing is isolate the engine and chassis. This will give you a idea as to where to look.
