13.5 HP B & S Runs rough under a load

4 to 5 year old Craftsman mower with a 13.5 hp B&S starts good, runs good. Until I engage the blade, then it runs rough and blows black smoke. If I return the throttle to an idle it will smooth out. I can slowly move the throttle to about halfway before it goes to running rough again. Rebuilt carb, set valves and governor.

Thanks for the reply. Fixed it yesterday. Even though the carb looked good, I replaced it and the problem went away.
