John Deere LA110. Briggs Intek OHV. Surging when cold for about 10 seconds then comes out of it. Fresh fuel. Cleaned carb. Checked intake gasket. Fuel solenoid works. Replaced carb. Still does it. Any thoughts? Tia.

Yes. It fires up on its own. Just takes a few seconds. I took slomo's advice and checked the valves and exhaust was too tight. I adjusted and seems better. I'll try again in a bit.

The exhaust valve was too tight. I adjusted it and think it's better now.

Cub XT1. For some reason it cranks over fine but takes like 15 seconds to start. I adjusted choke to where it fully closes but no change. I cleaned carb, swapped carb, fresh gas. Plenty of fuel flow to carb. Fuel solenoid works. What am I missing? Tia.

I fixed it. Was bad gas. I drained tank and carb and refilled with fresh gas and starts right up now.

Battery is new.

I watched that video yesterday. All the scenarios mention the choke staying open. Mine is closed but opens like it should?

I put a jumper wire on the thermal choke mechanism and it gets warm and opens up a 1/4 or a 3rd. That's about it. When started it opens completely.

Mower doesn't want to start back up without a fight. I took blower housing off and looked for linkage or vane issues and didn't see any. Where should I check next? Machine is a 2018 and only 55 hours. Ran great when parked last fall. TIA.

Hi guys! Asking for a friend. He has a Craftsman 917.272040 rider and just picked up a 40" 2 stage 48624839 for cheap and asked me if it would fit his machine and I have no idea. Cant find anything about fitment online but I did find the manuals for each but they dont help. TIA.

All fixed. Was easy. I used some 80w90 I had since you said you'd never had a problem with it. Said on the bottle that it was safe for brass too.

I just ordered the worm shaft, 4 seals, key way from Cub Cadet. Will ship in 8-10 days. Was $168 all together. I ordered the worm gear on Amazon for $13.

Would 5w50 be ok? Ever replace a worm shaft before? About to order parts.

Hi. Picked up an XT1 LT50 and it came with a snowblower attachment but the po said he thought it needed a gearbox. So I am assuming that it's a worn brass worm gear? I could be wrong. Never messed with one. But I guess the only way to tell is to put it on the tractor and see what happens, right...

I didn't take a close look but I think they were smaller and closer together? They were definitely different. Its a relief for sure.

It was the flywheel! I put old one back on and it fired right up! Had to adjust governor cause it was racing a little bit but seems all good now. Thanks!

I used all the internals from same motor as well as the head and flywheel. The block that had good internals had a broken off headbolt and I didn't want to mess with trying to extract it. It ran but headgasket was blown and bolt broken on me when I attempted to remove head Should I use old...

I just double checked valves. Replaced coil and carb and still does it. Only coughs with choke on like its doing in video. Wont fire off starting fluid either. Just coughs out carb.

Could it be that I might not have one of the valves adjusted correctly?

I got the dots lined up for sure. Doesnt change when spraying fluid in carb and I hear the fuel solenoid clicking.

The manuals for both engines show the exact same diagrams so I guess I can just use the original bracket and xt1 cable.

Do I need to swap that bracket out? Can I just hook up the cable somewhere different?
