    Fall Cutting

A mild fall day, lush grass, a vintage Lawn Boy, and some 16 to 1 mix and life is good.

    Lawn Boy Prototype Electric?

This is apparently an experimental battery/electric Lawn Boy that appeared on the Milwaukee Craigslist. It doesn’t float my boat, but I just thought I’d post it for the complete vintage Lawn Boy enthusiast who might find it interesting.

    Inconvenient Truth

This is a sad picture of my back yard as of this morning. This is what a 15 inch snow fall looks like in April. Things were looking promising a few days ago. I was even considering “summerizing” my snowblower. My Lawn Boys will be remaining in hibernation for a while yet. Message to that...

    Goodbye Until Late April

Today I took out the 5024 for a final fall yard clean-up. It’s getting awfully cold around here and I envy you guys who can stiil cut grass. Nothing like the smell of 2 cycle exhaust on a crisp fall morning. Hopefully by late April I’ll get to enjoy this all over again.

    Rain Rain Rain

In most of Wisconsin, we have had an over abundance of rain this summer. I have yet to see a dry, burned out lawn. Of course, I love cutting grass and this has been a banner year. My Lawn Boys have sure been getting a workout--not that I mind. I took this action photo today of my 1977 7260G...

    Barn Find

An unexpected phone call, a spur of the moment road trip, a walk through a dusty old barn---- and this was the result. Price?---Whatever it cost me in gas to get there.

    1977 Model 7024 Bricktop

After a lot of searching, I finally scored a bricktop model for my collection. This was a Craig's List posting that nearly ended up in a dumpster. It had been sitting for years and all it needed to get running again was a good cleaning of the tank and carb. I installed a new air cleaner...

    1968 Model 5237

My recent retirement gave me a good excuse to find another Lawn Boy project to work on. A Craigs List poster had a pile of junk Lawn Boys listed for a flat price and I just had to make a trip and have a look. Considering that my wife would not look too kindly on bringing them all home, I asked...

    Nova II Ignition

I need to replace the points and condenser in one of my older D engine Lawn Boys. Has anyone here tried the Nova II electronic ignition set-up? Does it work on a Lawn Boy engine and are there problems with ignition timing. Is it reliable?

1965 Model 5233 Shows Up At My Door.

Last week was good for me. An old work friend made a trip up to northern Wisconsin where he has some property and came back with a very nice Lawn Boy 5233 (tan colored model with the fiberglass shroud). He told me that it had belonged to his late father and had been sitting in a shed for the...

    This Followed Me Home Today

Saw this on CL and couldn't resist. Doesn't run and will need some work. It has good compression and looks to be in great overall condition. Just look at how good the paint, shroud and the decals are. It may need a coil and the usual other things like seals and air cleaner and the like. This...

    Working on the 8255

Just thought I'd post some pics of the work I'm doing on my 8255. Although it runs very well and the motor seems to be mechanically good, I thought I'd clean it up and give it a little TLC. I'll get it back together when my new gaskets and seals arrive. This CL find was a good purchase.

    New Member From Wisconsin

Hello everyone. I am a long time Lawn Boy fan and owner since 1980. My Lawn Boy model 5247 was purchased about 34 years ago at a hardware store located about 2 blocks from my house. It cost me $231.00 which was a lot of money for a mower back then. It was the the first and only new mower I...
