Exactly Our cost of living expenses are WAY up from just a few years ago. Everything from gas to diesel, groceries, propane (heating), electric, water, Etc. Everything costs a lot more.

Where else would you need the extra traction ?? Doubt if you need bar tires if your yard is flat.

What does 3 point turns have to do with not be able to climb a hill or sliding off of hills do to lack of traction. With turfs I couldn't mow the hill behind our house, replaced them with bar tires and I now mow those same hills with no issue.

Running Carlisle AT101 bar tires on my zero turns. Made a big difference in traction

I run 8 or 9 PSI in my zero turn tires. Front and rear. Much better ride.

The hour meter on my Snapper Pro is the same way. (numbers always showing) But it sits all winter and starts right up in the spring. Doesn't seem to affect my battery at all (even after setting for months)

Is this a new problem, did it previously go up that same hill in medium range ? The reason I'm asking is the 3130 is a fairly big/heavy tractor for its HP, so maybe your simply asking to much of it to climb a steep hill in medium

I have good luck just leaving mine alone. My tractors original battery lasted 11 years. Current battery is 10 year and still going strong. My last pickup truck battery lasted 13 years. My zero turn mower battery is the 9 year old original. None have ever had a battery tender on them.

The OP is mowing 10 acres. A push mower ??? Most 1500lb zero turn with a 60-72" deck would knock that out in a few hours, would hold up for many years, are easy to work on , and the cut is very good. (I know mine are) The right tool for the job has nothing to do with "keep up to the neighbors"

Why ?? Larger zero turns generally gets you into commercial grade engines, commercial grade transmissions, much heavy built frames and decks, Etc. Etc. My experience is they are lower maintenance, no higher than the smaller/lighter built residential models

They can tear the turf a little if your not careful But the AT 101's do so much better for traction and on hills its worth in IMO The stock turfs sucked..

Sure have. I replaced the crap turf tires on my zero turns with Carlisle AT 101's The AT 101 are MUCH better on hills.

I've owned 54" deck and 72" decks on zero turns and an 84" rear mount deck on my tractor. The 54" had 3 blades, the 72" decks have 3 blades, my 84" deck has 3 blades. The blades may cost a bit more on the bigger decks, but there is no difference in maintenance that I have seen.

+1 I have a 35 HP Kawasaki carbureted (72" deck) zero turn and a Vanguard 37 HP EFI (72" deck ) zero turn. Little to no difference in fuel usage
