Any listings I find for the L21ZSNC are for serial number starting with K . My serial # is J323B0089 . Can anyone tell me when this was made , and if the J and K are parts interchangeable ? F engine , steel deck . Google was little help . Thanks

Thanks for your reply . I did check the belt , but not for those things specifically , so will check again . I detected no movement in the pulley .I did find that the stepped washer that seals the plastic dust cover by the drive gears was in two pieces . Installed a new one , have not tried it...

I just acquired a model HRR2162SDA , serial # MZCG6964630 , that would not start. Will start with squirt of starter fluid . I think this is from 2002 . In parts schematics I can not find the wax autochoke. Is this because the early models were manual choke ? Any thoughts on the older models...

Newly acquired Craftsman tractor with Kohler 18 horse Pro single. I`m used to my Kawasaki twin, this big single makes alot more noise- not sure if exhaust or a rod knock. I pulled the plug wire , and turned the engine over- I could hear no knock, Is this a valid test ?

So no one has a warning regarding this Briggs ( ELS ) series motors . I realize how it has been maintained is crucial , which I don`t know . But , some designs are bad from the beginning, some not. I just want to know if this is a descent design . Thanks

My Toro snowblower no longer starts using the electric start- no response from switch. Is anyone familiar with this problem ? The most direct way to start is to check the switch, unless someone has a better suggestion. Thanks
