Exmark Radius-E Hydro Oil Change Question

Hello A., There are times when additional purging is needed on some systems. Air pockets get trapped easily in liquid/hydraulic applications. The heavier the oil/liquid viscosity the higher the chance of air bubbles and air pockets forming. Has for the hacks on You Tube, they rush through the...

    Ferris 400S Series RPM

Hello H., I have stuck to the industry standard of 3600 RPM no load top speed for nearly 50 years. Even though there are exceptions, they are very few when it comes to 4-stroke gas engines on small equipment. Generators for example, are rated at 60-61HZ in the US and that equates to...

Hi Rivets, Put gas in it, of it doesn't start its broken is the approach we see quite often. We have an interesting mix of folks on visit this site. Some are experienced DIY/Pro types all the way down to basically those lacking any common sense. I will admit, I have been guilty of just...

Hi Scrub Cadet, From watching your video, this is a bleed air jet problem. Have the valves been checked for proper adjustment and to make sure a spring has not broken? Anything is possible when dealing with a basket case project. Aftermarket carburetors are some of the worst to deal with for...

Trying to find location of starter & flywheel for FR651V when part lookup site sucks

Place a short board against the starter base and tap it a little with a hammer. Do not hit it hard, because you risk breaking the field magnets in the starter housing. This was a bad starter engine design to fight with.

Pull the plug and the crank start head and then rotate the motor by hand with the flywheel to see where the flywheel magnet meets the coil. It should be at top dead center as the magnet just meets the coil. If it is off by a little bit, the key is sheared. Also try to start it with the muffler...

22 horse Briggs & Stratton Poulan PRO will only start with help of a starter Fluid

Hi StarTech, I currently have a Kohler CV-22 here doing similar things. Even though the cable is adjusted correctly, the choke blade linkage has just enough slack that the engine will not start unless I touch the choke blade to ensure it is fully closed. It baffles the mind how just a little...

Will the operating engine vacuum keep the choke open?

The choke is manually operated by linkage on most machines. The vacuum of the engine has nothing to do with it. Get the correct carburetor and quit trying to rig the wrong one. Gees!

Snow Blower Vibration After Hitting Rock

I have been in South Texas since 1988, but I worked on a lot of snow blowers when I lived in central Va. previously. Usually, the damage would be to the bearing on the drive end if the rotor itself is not also bent. Also check the gear and shaft key for shear damage. It took a pretty sudden...

Snow Blower Vibration After Hitting Rock

    Lawn Mower Carburetor Replacement Kit

Hi Fred, Take the fuel line off the mower and look through the fuel line with it stretched out straight. If you can see through it, that is good. These junk pencil style filters are often shoved into the fuel line end or in the fuel outlet nipple of the tank. I usually discard them or punch...

    Won’t run without choke
