Toro lawnmower do not want to stop.

Scrubcadet is right. Have someone engage\disengage the bar and you watch what happens on the other end. the brake\kill wire are not engaging. It might just need a little oil or something. When u push the brake and it stops, do u feel like you are pulling the cable?? Maybe the cable is snagging...

Is the Kohler Courage really that bad?

That's why i am afraid if\when sears goes bye bye. Lowes won't do a swap so you would have to mail the tool to Stanley for replacement. I know because i had a broken Stanley tool and that is the lifetime warranty they offer.

    Want to ID my blower

I just got a few blowers (for $10 each ). Just changing the primers did the trick and they all run. Looking around, I see all stickers that would tell me what model i got are gone. I think it looks like models BR500 to 700. Can anyone tell me what else would tell me what i got?? Thx.

    YARDMAN EARTHBIRD 4HP TILLER 1970 model 5020-1

If you look at the seal, somewhere you will find info on what type of seal you have. If no luck, do a google maps search for "bearing" and those shops can either find the part # or else find a seal that fits your tiller. They can find one that fits with just the shaft size and the outer diameter.

Lawn-Boy 7268 Restomod Odyssey - Grab some popcorn and your favorite beverage!

It is a shame that with all markets when new, you have many brands with products that had their own way to get the job done - heck there were over 100 companies making cars in the US alone at one time! Over time many are either out of business or bought out and in the end you have only a hand...

    Oil question

    Anyone running Microsoft's newest version: 2004 ?

Back in the "good 'ol days"(up to 2000ish), HP(like Dell and Gateway) sold PCs with parts off the shelf. That meant that your PC NIC, video card, modem, etc would work in 3 different OS versions. Then they started engineering the hardware so that if you upgrade OS, the modem and NIC didn't work...

Good idea! I have a box of the velcro which has a loop on one end(so i can't drop it) in the server room. I'l grab one of those... Hydrostatic transmission problem?

I know. I'm just skeptical that if the noise is a sharp loud squeal (which is common when this trans is low\out of fluid) I would suspect low on fluid. You don't don't get a sharp squeal noise from parts submerged in oil(very muffled if any). My Deere has the exact same trans. I found out on...

    Hydrostatic transmission problem?

The trans squealing can be caused by low oil. With low oil maybe it is foaming(thus stop working) after using it for a few minutes... Look around the transmission. Do you see alot of oily dirt sticking the trans? That could point to leaking fluid thus being low and could explain your problem. Do...

help needed! Craftsman II 38" 12.5 HP model 917.254791 won't start

If you have no luck finding a whole carb, you can also just replace the carb needle and seat: Needle and seat This is your cause of the fuel leaking(assuming the float moves freely up and down). That's strange how the carb lookup pulled up a push mower carb. This one uses a larger carb than...

What is the shelf life for lithium-ion batteries ?

That's because they spot weld them from the factory. i cut around the weld. To each his own.

What is the shelf life for lithium-ion batteries ?

Maybe not. if the battery case is held shut with screws, pull out that soldering iron and screwdriver - you can always replace just the batteries. Watch out as to not break the circuit board in the battery. Lithium batteries need this circuit to regulate usage and charge unlike NiCads.

Trying to decide on used Honda's - Which to get?

With the honda honda mower u posted, remove the bag and there is a plate to the left. Remove the plate and see if the gear box wobbles\turns with the shaft forward and back. Being pretty old, the drive shaft input bushing wears out. If so, the gear box wobbles, and the gears don't mesh.

    Rusty Gas Tank

After you clean it out, if u want you can coat the tank so it won't rust again. I don't endorse it but i used the Por-15 tank sealer on my Snowbird many moons ago because after cleaning, it would keep rusting. I surely didn't want it to rust a hole in the tank.

Won't start with air filter in

So you blow compressor air into the carb and it starts? I think what that does is create a greater than normal vacuum in the carb venturi thus it starts. That would mean in the carb some crud is making it harder for the fuel to flow up as it should. Post a model # or a pic of the mower as...
