Michael, read the post below by biggertv-- use a few oz of ATF! cheap, simple to try-- not much downside.

    Can't Find Tire Leak

INTERESTING! I wonder if the ATF partially softens and swells the leaking pore. Expansion inside swells it shut maybe?!

    Can't Find Tire Leak

I would go as high as 50 psi.

    Can't Find Tire Leak

It appears that for over a week you have yet to fix this and had a LOT of comments; I read only page one and six. . . I would do this: -- jack up the air pressure to as much as you dare, at least 50 psi and do this: * After deflating. . . don't even bother testing it, just replace the valve...

J.D. E120 Snowblower attachment works very poorly

Excellent job of helping this guy. Good man!

J.D. E120 Snowblower attachment works very poorly

Heck, at the least take an image of the belt threadup and show it to a tech (one who has a brain) at the JD shop to double check both the threadup and the presence of the idler pulley spring etc; have the parts guy recommended the exact model # and it's length; and while there ask him to define...

J.D. E120 Snowblower attachment works very poorly

Exactly(!) what I was thinking after reading the OP post on page one of 4. I jumped here to the end of four dang pages and find that, after all this posting, John posted the most likely answer! You got MY vote!

    Fuel

Good to know. We need more input like this. Most folks have input that is opinions and info that confuses one variable with another-- They use BOTH Fuel stabilizer AND non-ethanol grade fuel. Do you use stabilizer after things turn cold and you expect to have gas sitting around longer than a...

    Fuel

Good suggestion to the OP'ers question; for me, I will USE this guidance from now on with caveats: -- after September when mixing 2 cycle gas, remember to put in stabilizer -- after September only refill ONE of the gas cans(not both) to force me to use it up faster! The whole problem centers...

    That's expensive

I simply jumpered my seat switch, cost me "nothing" on my older 445. However, attempting to do the same with my NEW X740 found it will not start with a simple jumper. Probably requires a special resistance to pass the test to start. . . hmmm. any ideas folks?

    Blade-balance oddity

The real reason why. . . Notice your blade is NOT symmetric. It is bent in and towards the grass at the 3" long cutting edges and squared off on the "backside"-- at a different angle to the axis of the blade. This difference makes its weight different from one side(across the 2" face) to the...

I think someone is in trouble...

back in the 60's my brother forgot to tighten the lug nuts on a customer's car. . . tire rolled off the vehicle while owner was driving down main street in our little town. My Dad owned a tire and battery shop! ooooh. probably not too good for busines. However, he died a millionaire!

GCV 160 defies my repair attempts

Just finished reading your post and all the response. I would never have guessed the plug in a million years. I will try that on an engine I have been putzing with for 3 yrs! So, thanks for posting. . . who knows.

    Stihl love/hate MS251C

Well, after reading this I actually have to agree with the poster! Hey, Stihl should KNOW(!) after building saws for a century(?) that GUYS are pulling on saws-- not little girls. If the damn thing won't start, guys pull harder and faster too! My own 2 cents: I have a Stihl FS 45 string...

yeah, understand completely. I got stuck with a cheap electric long reach chain saw trimmer. It won't even charge . . . used it once.

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

returned it last year to HOme depot, they refunded money with a credit card. Their tech tried to fix, and could not, asked for help with B & S dealer tech, could not figure it out. That is why they gave me refund. They no longer have corporate tech help, rely on dealers for all tech...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

Yep, looks good. THAT would work! But $900 for a lawn mower for occasional use. Twice as much as I was hoping for. I think I will just give up and tell they wife to ask me to cut the grass . . . my normal mode. I am obviously asking the market for something it just is not ready to do. The...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

It would be nice to ask some tech guy at B & S but they have off loaded ALL their tech help to their certified dealers-- nobody at corporate! It IS a conundrum. The other part is no one appears to really understand how their choke system works or can explain it well, so I can't even come up...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

No, like you that half price sent up red flags. I figured out their email and sent them an inquiry asking a few pointed questions. No reply. NOPE, likely a scam. I actually found two similar websites like that out of Indonesia.

cc600, but appears no longer manufactured; I believe they upped the ante to the cc800 and now want $1200

Walk behind Cub Cadet CC600, no start when hot

Geeeez. Here I was considering buying one. . . Not sure if these are made any longer but it sounds like you two have similar stories I had with the Home Depot mower I bought last year. About half the price of the Cub with a B & S engine. Push button start desired so wife did not have to PULL...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

I am looking at the CC600; hard to find but I DID find one through King Tool and Machine(Singapore) for $665 and free shipping. I am considering pulling the trigger. . . Cub Cadet engine, not B & S.

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

Thanks for the comments folks. hmmm. I was hoping to hear about some great whiz bang Cub Cadet engine / mower. . . on the Cub Cadet forum. I have LOTS of B &S engines and am not against them per se. I figure they just don't what they're doing for the choke / carb end on this model they sell...

Wife too weak, push button start gas engine-- Not interested in Electric Mower

My wife is too weak to pull-start our old mower, sold it. Bought a push button start gas mower from Home Depot with the Briggs and Stratton engine and battery starter. After using it about 4 or 5 times it refused to start even though cranking plenty fast. Just to be sure I charged it up. STILL...
