    Fuel in the crankcase?

Many of you run across this, so I am pointing out the issue for mainly visitors and the novice DIY types out there. If the engine crankcase is flooded full of fuel, it seldom means the carburetor is the problem. Most modern small engines especially those used on rider mowers have a pulse...

Briggs 22hp twin head bolt torque

Just to comment on your repair information: I updated much of my small engine service data by going to Ebay and purchasing CDs to use in my laptop. I have quite a few that cover old and new models along with some for ATV's and Kawasaki mules I work on.

John Deere Z335E dead electrical system

Sounds like the seat safety switch or one of the control handle safety switches. Stupid question: Was the electric PTO switch turned off? Seen it happen several times.

Increasing rear tire size on Toro 42 inch Timecutter

Can you add a weight box of some kind to the rear of the unit? Lowering the rear tire air pressure a little also help. The problem with bigger tires is you change the overall stance of the machine, and the deck may not have enough adjustment to correct for the problem.

Rough Idle - Dirty Carb or Something Worse?

This may sound strange but pull the muffler off and heat it up really well with a torch to burn out any oil and carbon that has likely collected in it. If exhaust cannot get out, fresh air cannot get in, I deal with this issue more often than I like these days. Also sharpen and balance the...

    StaBil and ethanol?

I use the mid-grade Ethanol and mix a cap full of cheap ATF per 5 gallons (shake gently, but well). The mid-grade seems to last quite a bit longer than the low-grade budget stuff. The ATF encapsulates the humidity/moisture in the plastic gas cans. "Knock on wood" I have not had any issues for...

Mower Blows 20 amp fuse when PTO when PTO is engaged

Verify the grounds (big and small) are all clean and tight starting with the battery cable and work from there. A cruddy, rusty ground or "green" corroded cable/wire creates high resistance. People always focus on the positive side and neglect the negative side of circuits. While you are...

    Mower deck spindle pulley removal.

PB Blaster or tranny fluid with Acetone mix work very well. You can use a fine thread bolt that will fit the shaft and screw in quite a few threads, then use an air hammer with a blunt bit to hammer on the bolt head while prying up carefully on the pulley with a board and prybar.

    133412 0059 01 coil going out

Check for a low oil sensor on the engine. If it has one, check and top off the oil level first. Next, disconnect it and see if the engine will fire up.

    Miss after warm up

Did you set the airgap between the coil and the flywheel magnet? A simple business card will work. Also make sure you have the correct plug for the engine. Not just any plug will do.

    Right transaxle low output

Sounds like a worn drive unit if this is a zero-turn model. What are you working on?

    YTH24V48 - Will Not Start

My reply was late because the entire page did not load. This fuse will easily blow especially if you try jumpstarting from a car battery. The Amperage is way too high jump starting. Always pull the battery and charge it or replace it.

    YTH24V48 - Will Not Start

Check the headlight harness. It has a ground that doubles back and goes up to the starter solenoid. This ground tends to break, and it will not crank and run if that happens.

    B & S 17.5 HP Problem

Number one problem is the valve lash adjustment. Go to a You Tube site called Teryl fixes all. He is a bit of a clown but has all the info you need about how to adjust the valves. The next problem could be more serious and the compression relief mechanism is broken or stuck on the camshaft...
