My ZT XL 52 won't stay running. It has 35 hours on it. It dies after mowing for an hour. Refuel and runs 30 minutes. Refuel runs 15 minutes. Changed the fuel filter as it acts like its running out of fuel. Now it runs until I move the arms to go forward and reverse. It starts trying to die. Shorted out the seat safety switch to test that. I'm also having trouble getting the parking brake to engage to let me try to restart the engine after dying. All this started after I change the oil. Could some of the oil leaked down on some hidden switch connected to the parking brake. Help. Thanks.

Sounds like the safety switch on the parking brake
If you try to move with the brake on the engine shuts down.

As for the original problem,
Blocked tank vent ;- loosen the cap so it can breathe
Blocked tank outlet ;- pull the fuel line off before the pump & blow backwards up the line to temporarly clear the line.
Blocked fuel line.\Replace all of them.

Solved the dying issue. Took the fuel filter off and tried blowing back into the fuel tank, nothing. Took the shroud off over the fuel tank. Discovered the shroud was pinching the fuel line. The first season the fuel line was strong enough. Second season the pressure closed off the fuel line. Rerouted the fuel line and is running fine again. Something to look for on other models maybe.

Thanks for that Mutt.
Another one to add to the list.
Never heard of this happening before but we are all aware of it now.
