I will be the dark horse here .
Forget the multi tools and go with a dedicated bladed edger.
One with 3 wheels , depth & angle adjustments.
You should be able to pick one up of Craigs list ebay , boot sales . Trash & treasure markets etc for $ 50.
Every clean up there would be 1/2 dozen tosses out to go to the tip
Every one has one in their sheds that they do not use any more because they are too lazy and mutilate their edges with a line trimer.
Get one with a 2 to 3 Hp side valve Briggs or Tecumseh engine on it and spend the rest of your money on a good line trimer .
Once you get used to driving them they will do a better job in 1/3 the time

In that case, I concur with Rivets. A bladed edger for concrete edges is the way to go, but not something you'd want to do with asphalt. Edging well with a string trimmer requires a lot of practice and developed skills. With this package you get both a trimmer and edger and the ability to add other tools down the road.

I have these same Echo items and they really can't be beat. I ALWAYS run Stabil 360 in all my Lawn Equipment, and between Echo and Stabil, I have absolutely trouble free motors. I did not know HD sold this Echo package, and if I remember I might have paid more seperately! :(

I'll stick to Seafoam® for my trimmer & blower, it doesn't go bad after a couple years.
