My fuel tank expanded now it’s loose inside it’s holder.

My RER sits in the garage. Never have to worry about this. I would remove the fuel and try a heat gun on low heat. You would need a vacuum source like a big shop vac to draw it back down to shape. Then if your fuel tank is sun faded, blow compressed air inside. Take a propane torch and...

RER been mowing w/ rear flat tire for last 8 years

All the guys at tire shop HATE those tire slimes and the like. Nothing but a mess for them changing the tires out. Some even rust the rim like you found. I take all mine to the tire shop and either tube or replace the tire proper. Solid tires might not have the traction you need. slomo

    Newer Hi-Vac bag size

I just picked up a series 18 commercial with an old say series 2 bag on her. Back from the white handlebar days. Wrong bag per wrong series of mower. To me the bags are roughly the same size. I didn't measure any of these or weigh with a full bag. I have both the old and the newer black beauty...

    Exhaust glowing red - issues..

To me red mufflers are retarded/improper cam timing and or improper ignition timing mostly. Vacuum leaks and lean carb conditions need to be ruled out. Put the choke on 3/4 the way closed. See if the red glow goes away. slomo

    Exhaust glowing red - issues..

Exactly, used mowers can be interesting. I would check EVERYTHING over like on CSI. Bought a gently used Snapper Commercial pusher that the lady installed the blade upside down. She said it didn't cut properly. Best 80 bucks I ever spent LOL. slomo

    Exhaust glowing red - issues..

Off topic but I found an arcing motor run cap on my 5 ton air con compressor unit at night. Wouldn't have seen it in the daytime. Freaking Crinese capacitors. Got some American made caps now. (y) slomo

Is a Spark Arrestor really Necessary?

I remove them because the engine sounds better. Like to wake up the neighbors at 06:00am. The ones that "allow" their dogs to crap on my grass. slomo

    possible head gasket issue?

Depends on your engine. Look at you engine manual. Don't think you can go wrong with Champion or NGK. OEM head gasket would be all I would entertain. Spray it with high tack gasket sealant too. Block sand with 1,000 to 3,000 grit paper with a large block that covers the entire bore area with...

    possible head gasket issue?

I'd go for a hotter plug or two. That black mess could be oil vapors in the air filter. Can't tell from the picture. slomo

Gas treatment to clean the carburetor ?

Other than lightening up your wallet and making a lot of smoke, what does it actually do? At 3-4 times recommended or even proper dosage, you are adding oil (Seafoam) to the fuel, lowering horsepower and torque. Where is the benefit? And if that doesn't burn out all the way, you get more...

    bagging

When did bagging become a neglected mowing technique? It produces the best most professional finish compared to side slinging and mulching. To me, mulching is the worst. Small clippings fall into the turf. Side slingers throw clippings on top of the grass blades. Slingers keep the turf and...

    EGO 21 inch SP mower?

Pawn shops around here are full of these disposable mowers. You might want to price check a replacement battery and charger. Some of those are around $300 - $400+ dollars. Sure makes a gas mower that will last for several decades more attractive. You "might" get 3-4 years out of that battery. slomo

    possible head gasket issue?

Tip on head gasket replacement. Clean the areas where the gasket goes. And clean it again. You might want to clean this area real good. Get it. Think HOSPITAL clean here. Stay away from metallic scrapers. Use the below link instead. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/topages/09_01520.php...

Take an air body saw which is a pneumatic hack saw and slice an X pattern in the bald tires. Make a diamond pattern like pushmower wheels. Easy way to retread racing slicks. slomo

    Mower Humor

THIS might be better than an OEM filter. Put a little SAE 30w on her and give it a squeeze. Has two stages of ultra cleanness. Probably cheaper than most filters too. Little trimming to fit the housing....... Forget K&N, the wife's kitchen sponges are the new hot rod filter. Okay all jokes...
