    40micron fuel filter on a 4hp lv148ea-334005b engine?

I’m saying replace the line from the tank to the carburetor and leave the filter off. Most push mowers don’t have fuel filters.

Even a very slight rearward motion is fine. Like they are just barely trying to move. You want them to be equal.

The best way to do it is get the rear wheels off of the ground. Then play with. You will then be able to see exactly what’s going on. You want zero creep.

    Tracks between blades

If it’s too wet and the deck wheels are too low, the deck wheels can push the grass down and does not rebound before it can be cut. Mowing too low in wet conditions will slow the blade speed. When the engine is bogging down, everything powered by the engine slows too. Optimally, only 1/3 of the...

One of the first things to do after a mower purchase is to level and pitch your mower deck. I have never bought a mower where the deck was set up correctly. Look on page 29 of the operators manual. The only bolts that you loosen and adjust are the bolts attaching the deck frame to the deck...

Yep! Probably the wrong piece of equipment for the job. The mulching deck is 100% wrong for the job. A mulching deck cannot process that grass. Side discharge only and make the first cut at the highest deck setting. Cracked oil filter? Loss of oil? Not good.

Does a higher grade fuel do any good?

The burning of fossil fuels will always result in some carbon residue. That’s just the way it is. If your spark plugs show carbon fouling, your engine could be running too rich. Adjustment of the carburetor can help with that. You can also go to a higher heat range spark plug.
  55. M

    Burning oil.

At 56 hours, it should still be under warranty. I would have the dealer look at it. Most oils get pretty thin when hot, in air cooled engines. That Kohler 300 hour synthetic oil is pretty high dollar to be changing that often. It’s a 10W50 synthetic oil. May I suggest using Valvoline VR-1 20W50...

Don’t overfill your fuel tanks. There should be something in your operators manual about filling your tanks. The Pro Turn Z has a Gravely branded Loncin 26.5 hp 746cc engine exclusively. There is nothing wrong with the Kohler engines. Do the scheduled maintenance and it should last a long time. Yamaha is done as far as mower engines. They may return at some point.
