the pin that holds the cam gear slides out after removing the valve cover. There is an O ring on it and with the oil on the O ring and pin can be vacuum stuck. Maybe able to free the pin by rotating the pin by the notched end held in place by the valve cover.
There should be no fuel present at that location The primer should be pushing air. And yes that little fitting has a small hole in it for a primer hose for a remove primer but that system doesn't exist on at least Briggs engines. So you either have an issue with the carb overfilling with...
Evidently the Stens warehouse in Jasper IN is leased and the lease ends in December. So everything will transition to the new 540,000 sq/ft warehouse in Portland TN.
Dixie Chopper is claiming that they have outgrown their current building located 10 miles from the old factory so it will be a...
Briggs as ended all production in Wisconsin and have move it to Alabama. Dixie Chopper has acquired the old factory in Coateville IN and will be moving production there. and Stens will be closing their Jasper IN warehouse and distribution and moving it to their new warehouse in Tennessee in...
The Kanzaki is used on some JD z-turns. Both pumps are housed in the same unit with internal gearing to run both pumps off of one input pulley. Repair parts cost the same or more than the complete unit and the complete pump assembly is around $1700.
I buy a few parts on Amazon depending on what they are. Sometimes I work on things that don't have readily available parts. Mostly used on Chinese items sold at Rural King, etc. Not much that can go wrong ordering Chinese parts to repair a Chinese item.
You can buy one and still change the oil just like you normally would. What everybody is missing is the no oil change also requires normal maintenance of the spark plug and air filter. And for the people that don't change their oil, probably don't do any service at all. Or maybe just replace...
Does it die when you release the clutch/brake pedal also. also if you remove the deck beck and try to engage the deck does the engine stay running. If it dies with the pedal then most likely something to do with the seat switch. if it keeps running with the deck belt disconnected then...
My local Walmart would issue refunds on riders in October that had been purchased in March. Or give refunds or exchanged for mowers that the customer would say it just quit, but in reality the customer had hit the water meter and the blade is now contacting the deck.
Funny story. A few...
That has been happening since the beginning of time. There is a fair amount of the consumers that never change the oil in the mowers, long before Briggs even discussed it. The add oil as needed has been happening since day one, and people are getting upset over something that has always been...
I think the last in person Briggs update I attended was in 2012 and at that time we were doing live in person update every 4 years, and it was predicted that 1/2 the people in the room would be retired before 2016. Most of the younger techs in my area are working on farm equipment and most of...
You actually bring up a good point. most mower techs are reaching senior status or getting close. Average age of a tech is now over 50 up from 46 just a few years ago, if I remember correctly. Very few young bloods entering the field.
When the belt comes off does it come off of just one pulley or several. So does it come off when you are blowing snow or when the thrower is raised. Details of when it comes off can point you in the direction of what is causing the problem.
The canned response you most likely recieved was to contact the selling or local dealer. Which is standard operating procedure with most manufacturers including automotive. Now what is the issue that you are having with your snowthrower.
Take it easy from somebody that had distal bicep tendon reattachment surgery 5 weeks ago. The recovery is 3-4 months in my case. Hear I will loose the brace next week. So will get to move my arm outside of physical therapy for the first time.
I was looking at the 5 year 200 hr warranty for the battery in the posted screenshot. So that would be 40 hr/yr and with battery technology will that battery be available for replacement after it fails. or if it fails under warranty will Deere just buy back the mower or give a credit toward a...
My take is these mower companies need to pin their battery technology down to stay with a standard platform instead of changing battery styles every couple years with no cross compatibility. ie, different batteries require different connections, and then they obsolete the batteries out after...
Drain plugs started disappearing in the early 2000's when mower OEM decks started blocking the drain plug on the engine, which later progressed to since you can't access the drain then there is no reason to have it on the engine so then the engine companies started by not drilling out the plug...
How often do the commercial mowing crews have ethanol and carb issue. How often do you see ethanol issues with vehicles. And I suspect the reason you don't allow ethanol is airplane has less to do with the ethanol, and more to do with atmospheric effects on the engine and venturi cooling effect...
Kind of complicated due to fuel being blended differently depending on climate and location. Some area wil have 4 blends depending time of year. More volatile fuel blends in the winter.
The entire ethanol thing started as a substity for the farmers due to low corn prices
Most EFI systems have a excess fuel return to tank so the fuel gets circulated and mixed.
