Does anyone else have a two-stroke Lawn Boy?

There's little difference in weight between the 19 and 21. All of my Lawn-Boys are 21 and all weigh like half what a 4-stroke weighs : )/ That huge Lawn-Boy weight difference comes from the simple, aluminum two-stroke engine (no valve train, no oil in the crankcase) and aluminum deck. They're...

Old Lawn Boy with no spark.

Yours is a 1972 model with a D engine. Sparkplug should be a Champion CJ-14; Gap: .025; Torque: About 12 ft-lb Did you check that the on-off switch is allowing the coil to spark? If so, before buying a new coil, try heating it up. Get the coil hot to the touch with a heat gun or hair dryer...

Lawn Boy 10515 Residue in Gas Tank

To answer the rest of your question: Do NOT try to take the tank apart! Getting it back together without it leaking would be nigh unto impossible, and a million times harder than cleaning it using any of the other guys suggestions.

Lawn Boy F series (7268) governor spring presetting

I've had pretty good luck by initially setting it with the shroud off and engine not running (of course) by adjusting spring tension so the spring can just barely move the vane all the way open, then maybe one click harder to the wide open stop. Move the vane with your finger to various spots...

Changing the drive belt LB 10324 ?

If you're just removing the self-propelled stuff, some good, heavy wire cutters should do the trick. Or did you change your mind and you're gonna keep that stuff on?

    dura-force trash find project

You have quite the collection of diverse lawn mowers! I have 5 Lawn-Boy push mowers and a John Deere Z335E for mowing the big part of my property.

    dura-force trash find project

Ty: Thought about it, but by just using a plastic-hooked bungee I can just take it off if I'm gonna let someone else use it. Not to mention, like you said, I'd have to lock the brake away from the flywheel. Too much messing around when all I need is that bungee. Roy: You can remove the...

    Electric start not working

When you say it is extremely hard to pull start, are you saying that you have to pull it a bunch of times? Or is it really hard to pull the handle at all? These could go together with the electric starter not turning it over fast enough. If this is the case, check to see if the brake is...

    dura-force trash find project

That's good news. What's wrong with the safety cable? Or are you just saying you don't like holding the handle? I use a bungee cord to hold the handle for me when I mow. :sneaky:

New Wheel Depth and Felt Washer Well

If you like that wait till you see the mower. I'm waiting on plastic polish before I post the refurb I did on it. You can get a little inkling from photo #3. Looks new, don't it? :)

New Wheel Depth and Felt Washer Well

I can't be the only one who noticed that after-market "universal" wheels either don't have felt washer wells or have wells that are too shallow and/or not deep enough. Not to mention that they aren't exactly the right width, so when you tighten them up with the right outside washer you can no...

    Lawn-Boy manuals and/or spark plugs

Sparkplug is Champion CJ14. Gap it to .035 for F engines. Torque them to about 13 ft-lbs.

Blast the coil with a heat gun, or your wife's blow dryer if you don't have one. Get it good and warm, like a little hotter than hot-to-the-touch. Often that is all it takes to make a coil start firing the plug again.

    What’s the value?

In my opinion, it would be a mistake to scrap any of these mowers. At least not until someone interested in Lawn-Boys has a chance to look them over. Where are you?

    Duraforce blade clutch removal

Compare parts lists for your mower vs non-BBC equivalents. My new BBC mower looks worlds different from non-BBC versions. Sites like Jacks (https://www.jackssmallengines.com) have parts manual pages for your mower. I do know the top is different - the BBC mowers have a taller, massive...
