hi all, just read an article about a small tach used to carbs. its called tiny tach and sells for around $50. it seems you tune the carb by using rpm. could someone explain how i could use this tach to tune 2 cycle walbro carbs?

Hi Pete. Just read your thread. I don't own a tiny tach but it would be handy also to confirm proper wide open throttle adjustment on my ride- around after rebuild. Anyway ,to hazard a guess about your question maybe the tiny tach is used for rich- lean adjustment of the lo-high jets. Your ear might serve just as well as you listen to rise and fall of the warmed-up engine. Motoman
Ok, You can beat me up for this one, But, aren't small engine's maneto(s) triggered by the flywheel each revolution, creating a wasted spark scenario, so 2 or 4 cycle wouldn't make any difference?
 the best Tiny Tach for you to use, would be DTI-FT100, fast tach wireless good for both 2 and 4 cycles up to 20,000 rpms.
 Go for it. I would like to see how many r's before it blows. Then I will know not to turn one over the blow up number.I/m tempted to tune my Intek for 20,000. Think she'll hold up?
