I recently swapped out a longblock SV840 on a BadBoy 60" Pro 27 ZT. Runs perfectly except it stalls immediately upon engaging the deck. BUT only for the first few minutes. After about 5-10 minutes of running, it operates flawlessly. I checked voltage when engaging PTO, no significant voltage draw. Clutch is not noisy, it seems to engage properly (not shorted). I bought mower with blown engine so I don't know if this happened prior to the engine replacement.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the carb is on the lean side until the engine warms up. Apply a little choke before engaging to see if this is the problem.
